August 14th, 2014 - Long Island, NY - Long Island rock outfit, NGHBRS, have released "Golden Age," the second song off their highly anticipated upcoming EP, with CULTURE COLLiDE today. The band will be releasing their highly anticipated Mike Sapone-produced (Taking Back Sunday, Brand New) EP this coming fall.
About the inspiration behind the new song, NGHBRS' frontman, Ian Kenny explains, "'Golden Age' is an ode to my early 20's, some of the strangest and most beautiful days of my life, so far. It's about following your heart and passions, making mistakes, and growth." He continues, "This tune really came together while working with Mike Sapone. He really helped us achieve the vision we had in our heads."
The follow up to "Small Talk," the band's new single is the second track to be released off their upcoming EP. Critics and fans alike have been eagerly awaiting new material from NGHBRS, following the band's viral hit, "Hold Up Girl" - whose innovative music video sparked an outpour of praise from the likes of USA Today, Mashable, FUSE News, KCRW, The Deli Magazine, Elite Daily and The Wall Street Journal, who heralded the effort as "the cleverest DIY video since OK Go." Fusing elements of alternative rock with catchy melodies, impressive musicianship, rhodes keyboards, and 90's grunge,NGHBRS blew critics away with the release of their 2013 full-length, "Twenty One Rooms." What followed was the band's busiest year yet, with breakout performances at CMJ Music Festival, SXSW, Skate and Surf Festival and shared bills with the likes of Born Cages, Taking Back Sunday, Royal Blood, Circa Survive, Mary Lambert and Joywave, and packing out major local venues including Gramercy Theater, Brooklyn Bowl (KCRW's "It's a School Night!"), Glasslands and The Studio at Webster Hall.
